On any day of the week, you could expect a newborn baby to be nurtured and loved by his older sister. Except, of course, if it’s Wednesday. Pubert is the latest addition to the Addams family and, to prevent sibling rivalry escalating to fratricide, Wednesday and Pugsley are shipped off to summer camp and a nanny is hired. Debby Jellinsky is great with wrinkling baldies, which makes her the perfect nanny for Pubert and the unlikely wife of Uncle Fester. (IMDB)
Director: Barry Sonnenfeld
Starring: Anjelica Huston, Raul Julia, Christopher Lloyd
This is definitely one for the older kids, but it still falls under one of the classics of family movie. Whereas we felt that this movie was not as good as the first one, they still did a good job at making us laugh. This movie is not everyone’s cup of tea, but we found the movie to be entertaining. Despite the parts where the movie slowed down a bit, it is rather a nice watch. The movie went deeper into the life of Fester and his brother Gomez and it turned out to be really interesting.
The camp scenes were a little creepy, but they turned out to be rather entertaining. Joan Cusack is a great addition to the movie and she fulfills the role greatly. This is one of those classics that is still entertaining and you are going to love watching Wednesday get into trouble. We found this to be rather entertaining for the most part. There were a few scenes where they could have done without, but it is all having to do with the plot of the movie.
Overall, it is a great film to watch with the older ones. The little ones will be too scared for this semi-dark movie. It is worth your time to sit down and enjoy it at least one time. You are going to want to save this for when the little ones go off to bed. That way you don’t have to worry whether or not they are going to have nightmares.
